YAP provides young people, adults, and their families with intensive support right from where they live, learn, work and play through our YAPWrap model. Our growing research base confirms that YAP is making a positive difference in the lives of young people, families and within the systems that support them.
YAP's blog features stories about families, advocates and program practitioners on the front lines of the youth justice, child welfare and social services systems reform movement. Youth Advocate Programs are the county's greatest and best asset to redirect and change the lives of juveniles and their families.
Change does happen and it happens with the kids most people do not want to work with. Those are our kids. We not only work with the young person, but with their entire family.
YAP contracts with county mental health systems, managed care organizations MCOs , and private insurers to provide both fee for service and case rate Medicaid services. Services in our outpatient setting provide the full array of behavioral health services mentioned above with the addition of licensed psychologists and psychiatrists.
Psychological and Psychiatric evaluations are conducted and detailed assessments completed. Psychiatric services also include medication management when needed. We provide intensive individualized service to children in their homes, school and community through our Behavioral Health Services.
