Osx alert this software cannot be installed on this computer
I could not get the machine to boot into internet recovery mode or to the hardware test. I first booted up from the Install DVD that came in the mail I entered DU and cleaned the HD and ran the repairs Then I attempted to install I get the message "OS X can not be installed on this computer.
I reboot Then I switch the HD for the new one I get the same " I call Apple, they suggested that I get SnowLeopard It won't even recognize that as a bootable drive. I get the "? Folder" at startup after the disc spins for about minutes. They sent me 3 discs after I called again. I feel that if they sent me a CD version of the install disc Still I find it strange that the Admittedly I bought the Leopard discs from a retail store that is not Apple Apple doesn't carry Leopard I'm hoping that the discs were not serialized to the machines that they might have come with I would be highly upset.
Short of replacing the logic board here I've been through it all with this machine. They are properly detected, and the system is working fine. After booting into the iPod, it gave me the option to install to the new hard drive from the iMac G5 which is currently connected to my MBP. I installed it through my MBP, and assumed it had installed to my G5. I'm experiencing some issue when I tried to reinstall my OS.
It just keeps prompting me Mac OS X cannot be installed on this computer. You have to use your Time Machine to restore But its a brand new hard disk. I have also tried using another hard disk. Its just keep prompting the same error. I also have deleted and recreate with 2 partitions, but problem still surface. Deleted and Erase at Utilities- Disk Utility, also can't help. Have my iMac since March and absolutely no problem. So basically, takes about 5 minutes from start up to being able to use my iMac.

Called them and they think it is the hard drive going out. But just doesn't make senseworked just fine until I loaded I cannot connect to the internet or to the network either in bootcamp or in mac. Yes, this error message problem, again. I have to revert back to Mac OSX Lion runs fine on my MBP 2. It works fine on OSX I can burn DL's on this machine but I can't read these disks, it just spits them out. Flakey Superdrive or time for a cleaning? I installed from this disk before, and now I can't. Do I need to flatten that startup disk entirely before I can install an OS again?
I've installed plenty of different operating systems before, from various sources but I've never run into this before. So all of old files are on the external drive now. After installing XP I have no internet connection, drivers etc However if I boot up on the mac side everything works fine.
I cloned the mac os already with Carbon copy. Maybe it is supposed to be this way - but does anyone know? If not, is it possible that it needs to be wiped again? He said that at one point he had tried to set up a Windows partition on the hard drive, but he gave up and just kept using the Mac OS.
Is it possible that partition or some sort of volume is still there and wasn't wiped by WipeDrive for Mac, but is not showing up when the Mac OS X I did try checking for errors and Disk Utilities can't find any. Your other issue sounds like others have said as the wrong install media.
Reinstall Disks They are gray and they are the correct disks. I gave Apple the following information and, according to Apple, these are the right disks for that build. Just on the very outside chance that lady made a mistake, here is the very detailed info: iMac iMac 5,1 Intel Core 2 Duo 2. B09 SMC Version 1. I know this is extremely over-the-top detailed, but I thought maybe there was something I was missing somewhere.
Is Hardware Test a clue? Does this mean I for sure have the right set of disks? I downloaded mactracker after a kind forum user posted the link to it for me and then tried to read everything I could and according to it, some of the computers of my EMC came with They don't list any model with AHT Thanks again for taking your time to try to help me solve this problem.
Never used WipeDrive, however I wonder if the seller formatted the drive after wiping it clean? Pop in your DVD, see if you can get the machine to boot holding down the 'C' key immediately after the chimes, If successful, go to Utilities, then Disk Utility and see if the drive is recognised.
If so, format Mac OS Extended and try again. The numbers on disc 1 are 2ZA and 2ZA for the second disk. From my reserch it would seem that that is what those are for, though there appears to be one revision of that that I've never seen that is Huh, my only problem is this is my only mac product and after wiping it, it wont do anything now.
