Viva knievel torrent
It all shows Made for TV when Evel was near the height of his fame, this mythologises the real story to an absurd degree. The direction is better than usual for a TV movie but the script. The script!!! Absurdly lazy, and all over the place.
George Hamilton mugs his way through 90 minutes, seeing him trying to play a teenager is hilarious! Growing up in the 70s I spent lots of time building crappy ramps and jumping my mustang style bike, making go karts and jumping them off cliffs and all kinds of fun activities. If I'd seen this at the time I would have been unimpressed, despite the footage of his real life stunts. The movie draws you in with an interesting PATTON style monologue by Evil in the opening which dovetails into a flashback structure that seems like it'll bounce back between Evil about to jump a bunch of busses and the events that led him there, but then Screenwriter John Milius goes "Ah We're bored with trying to set-up any motivation, so how about the last half-hour is just Evil being mischievous as a high schooler?
Milius understands how to fully represent the American ideal of myth and symbol through one specific character, whether real or fictional. Die Stunt-Szenen bestehen fast komplett aus Originalaufnahmen. Die sind auch das Beste am Film. Das Drama dazwischen ist weitgehend belanglos und uninteressant. Very early attempt to mythologize the famous daredevil is a low budget mess starring pretty boy George Hamilton in the title role. This one climaxes in a 14 car jump and doesn't really show much in the way of action, so what's left is lots of scenes of Prima Dona Evel being abrupt and impatient with his crew.
Sue Lyons plays the wife this time and the high school scenes are once again completely ridiculous. Did you know Edit. Trivia Silent partner Irwin Allen ended up directing 80 percent of this movie after Director Gordon Douglas became ill early in the production. Goofs When Evel Knievel crashes the Stratocycle through the front door of the mental hospital, the cycle's right wing breaks against the door frame, but the left wing remains intact.
As Knievel rides down the hall in the next shot, both the right and left wings are missing. In a shot after a quick pan-away showing the Doctor calling security , Knievel reaches the end of the hallway, and both wings on the bike are intact again.
Quotes Jessie : End of the line Evel. Connections Edited into E! True Hollywood Story: Evel Knievel User reviews 25 Review. Top review. The Greatest and Bravest Showman in the World! I LOVE this movie!! Ok, it is a terrible, terrible film, but that's what makes it so great!
We would rewind scenes so many times that even years later, when we reunite, we can still recite some of these scenes verbatim. It's a classic. First of all, just consider this plot: a mob boss, played straight by Leslie Nielson of all people, wants to assassinate good ol' Evel in Mexico so he can use his stunt trucks to smuggle drugs back to the U.
Another priceless moment comes when Evel delivers an anti-drug speech warning kids that if they use dope - just like race car drivers who use nitro in their cars - they too, will "blow all to hell!
I've never seen Gene Kelly looking so disgruntled and tired, and what would be complete without a way-over-the-top Red Buttons classic line delivered to a groggy Evel: "What is this, Judgement Day!? Where's Charro when you need her?
And let's not forget that kid at the orphanage who literally throws his crutches to the floor and says, I kid you not, "you're the reason Evel! You're the reason I'm walkin'! And then of course there's that catchy theme song. I can't figure out why it was never a hit.
Details Edit. Not everybody loves the man in the red, white, and blue jumpsuit. The border patrol will be too grief-stricken over the death of the Last Gladiator to search the trailer, and then all Nielsen has to do is sell the coke—presumably to schoolchildren—and reap the rewards. Save yourself some panic The thermometer works for children and adults alike, and runs on AAA batteries, the first round of which are included.
Key scenes: A man as magnificent as Knievel needs a love interest to match his prowess, and he gets one in the shape of the vacantly argumentative Lauren Hutton.
But she starts to soften when Knievel takes her for a ride around the stadium on his motorbike, doing wheelies and spinouts to beat the band. For the first and only time in the movie, he starts to doubt the wisdom of his choices, and considers getting out of the business.
